Pacific Rim

Pacific Rim is a science fiction media franchise created by Travis Beacham and directed by Guillermo del Toro. The franchise centers around a future where giant alien monsters known as Kaiju emerge from an interdimensional portal at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, threatening humanity's existence. In response, the Pan Pacific Defense Corps develops massive robots called Jaegers, piloted by two individuals linked through a neural bridge known as 'The Drift'. The original 2013 film was met with positive critical and financial reception, grossing over $411 million worldwide against a $190 million budget. The franchise has expanded to include a sequel film 'Pacific Rim Uprising' (2018), an animated television series 'Pacific Rim: The Black' (2021-2022) released on Netflix, video games, comics, and merchandise. A live-action prequel television series is currently in development for Amazon Prime Video.
