Group Centrex Enhanced Subscriber Services
To enhance market share and generate additional revenue streams, broadband service providers and traditional local service providers are looking at ways to offer a hosted local service package to mid-sized businesses and enterprise branch offices. They have to compete with alternatives such as PBXs and IP-PBXs by offering a feature-rich, integrated set of services that offer enhanced flexibility and cost-savings to businesses, without compromising on quality. Hosted IP Centrex solutions represent an attractive option, but these solutions require multiple components -- such as Centrex service platform, IADs, IP phones, softswitch and media gateway -- from different vendors. The Veraz Group Centrex Enhanced Services Application solution enables service providers to overcome these challenges by offering a complete, pre-tested package that includes all the components and features they need to quickly deploy revenue-generating services.

With open standards-based interfaces, the Veraz solution offers an integrated package that includes the ControlSwitch™ softswitch platform, the I-Gate 4000 line of media gateways, and best-of-breed components from 3rd parties such as Centrex application servers, IADs, SIP-based IP phones and border gateways. The solution supports integrated billing for both on-net and off-net calls, and handles security and NAT traversal issues using the border gateway. In addition, customers can optionally leverage 3rd party application servers such as Messaging and Conferencing that have been pre-tested with the Veraz solution. The Centrex servers run on standard off-the-shelf computing platforms for cost-effective, scalable and fault-redundant configurations. The comprehensive set of Centrex features supported include Extension Dialing, Speed Dial, Call Return, Last Number Redial, Consultation Hold, Call Transfer, Three-Way Calling, Call Waiting, Calling Line ID, Call Forwarding, Do Not Disturb, Web-based Moves-Adds-Changes, Voice Messaging, Voice Portal, Calling Plans, Device Inventory, Series Completion and Hunt Groups. The operational costs are minimized through web-based management of accounts, users and features, including the option of a customer self-service portal.

Being IP-based, the Veraz solution allows the Centrex service platform to be hosted at a central location on the IP network, while delivering services to multiple regions & countries. This results in significant cost-savings compared to traditional alternatives. The cost-effectiveness is further enhanced by the fully distributed, modular architecture of the ControlSwitch™, which enables expansion to new regions with the addition of just the components required for that location.

With support for multi-national signaling variants of SS7 and ISDN-PRI, the ControlSwitch™ enables scalable & efficient off-net calling to TDM networks. Based on advanced in-house DSP technology, the I-Gate 4000 family of media gateways deliver uncompromising toll-quality voice for off-net calls.
