Tariff Announcement application is an optional Enhanced Long Distance Service implemented within the Veraz high availability softswitch and service delivery platform - ControlSwitch. This In-Switch service enables service provider to offer their customers a greater degree of tariff transparency before calls are set up. That is, subscribers using long distance service receive a pre-recorded announcement played via Interactive Voice Response (IVR) informing the callers about the exact tariff before the call is set-up.
The flexible ControlSwitch Policy Engine (PE) is utilized to customize Tariff Announcements based on approximately two hundred parameters such as time of the day, day of the week and a combination of country and area codes. This flexibility allows wired and wireless long distance service providers to minimize their operating costs while providing flexible tariff rates.
